You just got a notification saying your Disc Golf Swag order shipped—but when you click the tracking link, it says it was already "Delivered" weeks or months ago in a completely different state. Your package hasn't even left our warehouse yet!
What's going on?
This is a known USPS system glitch, and your order is perfectly fine. Here is exactly what is happening behind the scenes and how to get the real status of your discs.
Every USPS tracking number is supposed to be "retired" for several months before being reassigned to a new shipment. This ensures that when you look up your package, you only see your shipment's history—not someone else's from last summer.
The problem: USPS has been recycling tracking numbers faster than their system can clear the old data. A number assigned to a package delivered weeks ago gets reassigned to your new Disc Golf Swag order before the old delivery history wipes. When you check your tracking, you are seeing the previous package's "Delivered" scan, not your current order status.
This isn't an issue unique to Disc Golf Swag. It is a widespread systemic issue documented by major shipping platforms like Pirate Ship, Stamps.com, and Amazon Buy Shipping, affecting e-commerce sellers everywhere.
Your package is still being safely prepared, packed, and shipped to your address exactly as ordered. The "Delivered" status you see belongs entirely to a past shipment.
Usually, once USPS physically accepts our outbound packages and scans them at the local sorting facility, the system overrides the old data with your real tracking progress. This update typically happens within 24 to 48 hours.
Sometimes, the USPS public website is incredibly stubborn. Even after 24–48 hours, the online tracking page may completely fail to update and will continue to show the old "Delivered" status. If this happens, do not panic. Your package is still moving through the mail stream and will be delivered to your shipping address in a timely manner, completely unaffected by the online glitch.
If the online portal remains stuck and you need to know exactly where your package is, checking the website or talking to the automated chat system will not work—they both draw from the same glitched public data.
💡 The Insider Secret: To get the true, accurate tracking data, you can call USPS customer service directly. However, you must speak to a live person / agent.
Live customer service agents have access to an internal USPS backend system. Even if the website is frozen on the old "Delivered" data, a live agent can see the actual internal scans showing your discs moving toward your doorstep.
Wait 24–48 hours after getting your shipping email to see if the system auto-corrects.
Look at the delivery city on the current history. If the "Delivered" location is a town you don't live in, that is 100% confirmation you are looking at a recycled number.
Ignore the old delivery date. Any delivery date currently listed belongs to the previous package, not your new swag.
Call USPS if you need an exact update. Speak directly to a human agent to bypass the glitched web data.
Reach out to us if your package hasn't arrived after 7 business days. We always stand behind our shipments and will make sure you get your gear.
If your tracking says "Delivered" right after ordering:
Your order is totally fine and on its way to you.
You are just seeing old data from a previous shipment that shared the same number.
The website should fix itself in 24–48 hours, but even if it stays glitched online, your package will still arrive safely and on time.
If you need an accurate status update while the site is glitched, call USPS and speak to a live agent.
