Personalization is the only thing that reliably turns a disc into a gift. Disc golfers buy discs constantly — a stock disc disappears into a bag of thirty. A disc with their name, their dog, or the course where they learned to play does not. Here is what works for each kind of recipient.
For him
The default gift for a disc golfer is another disc, which is exactly the problem. Better angles:
- His dog on a disc. Our single most-ordered gift, and it lands every time.
- The course he learned on — a photo of the sign, the first tee, or the view he throws every week.
- An inside joke as a stamp. Something only your circle understands, printed properly rather than scrawled in marker.
- A glow disc ($34.99) for the player who already owns everything in daylight.
Choose a midrange or fairway driver if you are unsure of his game — they suit the widest range of arms.
For her
- A floral or botanical design with her name — the design does the work, and it does not look like generic sporting goods.
- A matching pair for the two of you, same design at two colours.
- A photo disc of a trip, a pet, or the two of you.
For the kids
Two things matter for a child's disc: it should be light enough to throw properly, and it should feel like theirs.
- Their name in big letters is the entire gift at that age.
- A drawing they made, printed on a real disc. Genuinely one of the best uses of a photo disc — upload a scan of their artwork.
- A putter rather than a driver. Lighter and easier to control; a distance driver is frustrating for a small arm.
For the couple
If the gift is for two people — an engagement, a wedding, an anniversary — a keepsake disc with both names and the date works better than two separate discs.
For the player who has everything
The gap in a serious player's bag is never another disc, it is something with meaning attached. A memorial disc for a player they lost, a disc marking a personal best round, or an ace-commemoration disc with the date and hole number.
These are the discs that stay in the bag for a decade.
Not sure what they would want on it? A gift card lets them design their own. It arrives by email in minutes, or on a date you choose.
What personalization actually costs
Nothing extra. Personalization is included — a fully custom printed disc is $29.99, glow plastic is $34.99, and the price does not change based on how much you put on it.
Quantity discounts start at two discs ($28.50 each), so buying for two people is cheaper per disc than buying for one. U.S. shipping is free over $50, which two discs clears.
How the designer works
- Pick the disc. Choose a mold from the dropdown — premium plastics at 170g and up, glow included.
- Add your photo or text. Position and resize it with a live preview showing the finished disc.
- Order. What you see on screen is exactly what we print. No proof to wait for.

Common questions
Will the print wear off? No. The artwork sits in the surface rather than on it, which is why a disc thrown for years still shows the photo clearly.
Are personalized discs tournament legal? Yes. The mold is approved for sanctioned play and personalizing it changes nothing — it can go straight into a tournament bag.
What if my photo is low quality? Email it to sales@discgolfswag.com before ordering and we will tell you honestly whether it will print well.
How long does it take? Most orders ship within a few business days; larger runs and peak seasons take longer. The ordering deadlines post has the specifics.
